The place for lovers of the strange, the classic, and the downright weird on the silver screen…
So, you’ve found this little corner of the internet. Here, I obsess, rant, and occasionally swoon over movies—classics, film noir, avant-garde experiments, horror, sci-fi, grindhouse, exploitation, schlock… You name it, I’m probably into it. If it’s on the silver screen, it’s fair game.
So, who am I, and what’s all this about?
I’m a cinephile. A horror nut. Someone who once started a blog in 2013 just to yell about movies on the internet, and somehow I’m still doing it—now with slightly better grammar and more caffeine. This space exists for one reason: to share my ridiculous love of films—warts, weirdness, and all. When I’m not bingeing obscure movies or reading, you’ll find me writing, as I’m also an aspiring author.
I’ve been a finalist at the Mayday Hills Ghost Story Competition at Asylum Fest two years running, and this year I came in second place. It’s the first time my scribbles have felt like something tangible, something real—and it’s the kick in the pants I need to chase publishing properly. One day soon, I want readers to feel the same jolt of terror or delight from my stories as I do when a perfectly timed jump scare lands—or a villain walks onto the screen and steals the show.
I’m a sucker for the weird, the uncanny, and the beautifully messed-up. I live in the spaces where movies meet the dark side of art, argue passionately about the best B-movie villains, and will happily debate whether practical effects beat CGI any day of the week. I get genuinely excited over films that scare, charm, and make you think all at once—and I try to bring that same energy to my own writing.
Here, you’ll find a grab bag of curiosities: my blogs, pieces for Infamous Horror, posters and promo shots, trailers, classic movie quotes, links to public-domain films, old-time radio… and whatever else catches my fancy. Think of it less as a “reviews” site and more as a playground for the curious, the weird, and the unapologetically passionate. If you’re after cookie-cutter takes and predictable opinions, this isn’t the place. But if you want something different—off-kilter, a little unnerving, and yes, a little bit terrifying—welcome home.
Sit back, prop your feet up, pour that drink a little stronger than usual, and let’s dive into the madness of the silver screen—reel by reel. Stick around long enough, and you might even catch some of my own dark tales sinking their teeth in…

The internet is full of scams and spam, so let me spell it out: this site is a personal, creative space. Dimly Lit Alleyway is not affiliated with anyone else, promotional or otherwise. It’s a pure labour of love. I’m a one-woman army, and the site is slowly evolving as I have time. The design’s a work in progress, improving as I figure things out. I’m not trying to compete with the big sites or make it flashy—it needs to stay genuine.
As of 4 October 2025, I’ve added Amazon affiliate links so you can snag the films I rave about. Any tiny commissions go straight back into keeping this site alive. This isn’t about getting rich—it’s about keeping the lights on so I can keep ranting, reviewing, and sharing my love of movies with you.
I have no other social media accounts connected to Dimly Lit Alleyway except what’s listed on the social media tab. I will never slide into your DMs asking for money, donations, or push sales. PERIOD.
For collaborations—paid or unpaid—head over to the contacts/collab tab and write to me directly.
And if you spot someone out there using my name to sell or scam people, please contact me immediately and report them.
